Facts About Minnesota Tornadoes

Here are some more interesting facts from the DNR about Minnesota tornadoes:

• Tornadoes occur most often between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM (but they can and do occur at any time of the day and night
• Late spring and early summer are the most probable danger periods in Minnesota
• Groups or outbreaks of tornadoes often last from three to twelve hours
• On June 10, 2010, forty-eight tornadoes affected twenty-two counties in Minnesota over a six-hour period
